However, the full qestion was:
Taking as a given that you want to serve people, teach, and enable your potential congregants to grow spiritually; What is it that is within you, which is fulfilled by becoming a priest?
This was a question posed to potential students at Salisbury and Wells Theological College when attending for interview. I understand that few gave a satisfactory answer.
This question came up today whilst we were on a quiet day preparing for advent. It was partly in response to Psalm 24: The earth is the Lord's etc. Therefore, we were told, the true calling of Christ is to give to God what is of God, which, is of course, everything that is of life!
It takes a lot of self searching and honesty to answer that one!!
