In the crowd

There in the crowd.
A half smile, world weary but
with gestures of warmth.

There again.
soft words a voice of
understanding amidst pain.

A slow pace.
walking with empathy
alongside broken hearts
and damaged lives.

Vulnerable, humble.
Unarmed.
